BRP Dagupan City's ship, the BRP Bacolod City (LC-550) are the two Bacolod City class logistics vessels which weighed 4,265 tons and were both commissioned in Dec. 1, 1993.

FLED/DiveCenter support our Philippine Navy by supplying  complete diving gears and consumables to the vessel for the repair of damage hull together with PN-NVSOG Class 79.

The BRP Dagupan City (LS-551) is the second and last ship of two Bacolod City class logistics support vessel, and is based on a helicopter capable variant of the US Army Frank S. Besson class. The BRP Dagupan City was built by Halter/Moss Point Marine of Escatawpa, Mississippi in the United States and was commissioned into Philippine Navy in 1994. She is also considered as one of the most modern transport ships in the Philippine Navy, having been commissioned during the early 1990s. She was previously known as BRP Dagupan City (LC-551) prior to a classification change implemented by the Philippine Navy starting April 2016.

This ship has two General Motors-EMD 16-645EZ6 diesel engines with a combined power of 5,800 hp. The main engines propel the 1,400 ton (4,265 tons in full load) ship with a maximum speed of 12 knots (22 km/h) and at a sustained speed of 10 knots (19 knots (19 km/h), with a range of around 8,300 nautical miles (15,370 km).

The BRP Dagupan City is a Landing Craft Vehicle Personnel or Landing Craft, Vehicle, Personnel (LCVP) is any of a variety of amphibious landing craft designed to transport troops or armoured vehicles from ship to shore during amphibious landings. It's primary mission was to transport and discharge of liquid and dry cargo to shallow terminal areas, remote under-developed coastlines and on inland waterways.

This ship can operate even in only four feet deep of water under full load, it can handle almost anything without port facilities or external cranes. This capability expands the choice of landing locations, this greatly reduces the potential enemy impact on the logistics support operations.

It has the capacity of up to 48 TEU or 2,280 tons vehicles / general cargo, or up to 900 tons on Logistics Over The Shore (LOTS) / amphibious operations. It has a ramp on the front for unloading cargoes, troops, or a heavy battle tank, and it can withstand roll-on / roll-off operations.

Here is a secret about this ship, originally it was named  BRP Cagayan de Oro City, but commissioned with the Philippine Navy as BRP Dagupan City. There are images showing the words "BRP Cagayan de Oro City" painted at the rear end of the ship's steel surface.
